It’s the time of the year again where hopes and dreams are either realised or shattered. We at Retamil.com want to take this golden opportunity to felicitate and encourage all the SPM and STPM candidates of 2014 who give fresh new hope to Malaysian Indians, that all is not lost.
Malaysian Indian STPM 2014 Top Scorers
First up, P.Kaventhran who, despite being visually impaired (completely blind) managed to score 4 Flats in STPM, making him the top scorer of blind STPM students in the country. Below is his interview. His wit, charm, eloquence, articulation and warm personality make up for his disability and his confidence level and intellect are nothing short of admirable. A total champion!
Next, Kabilan Mathavan from Karak, Pahang, who got perfect scores in STPM, 4.0 CGPA. He also appears in the last part of the video above. In the words of Kabilan, “I did not get straight As in SPM. I was monkeying around. But for STPM, I decided to go all out, hence this result.” So, to students out there, effort is everything. Effort makes the difference of breaking or making your life. Muyalum vellum, aamaiyum vellum aanal muyalaamai endrume vellathu.
Finally in our STPM 2014 high achiever list is Arisshea Mangaleswaran. She scored 3.5 pointer in STPM. Here she is, wearing a toothy smile!
Malaysian Indian SPM 2014 Top Scorers
This lad who looks just as unassuming and composed as Dhanush is SPM 2014 Best Student at both State and National level. Kiran Raj hails from Shahbandaraya Klang and scored a whopping 10 A+ in SPM. Point to note is that he was from a Tamil school, that is, Simpang Lima Tamil School, Klang.
Ashwini Uthayakumar, from Seremban, Negeri Sembilan has 10 A+ under her belt, earning her a place in the news as one of the top scorers in SPM 2014.
Suhasan A/L Kanaga Sabapathy from SMK Taman Selayang clinched 9 A+. This judicious boy also has a Tamil school background. His feat is a neat feat indeed!
Gayathri Krishnan, a student from SMK Pasir Gudang scored 10 As.
Terrific twins Malaimagal Kunasegaran (left) and Malarvili Kunasegaran (right) chalked up 11As and 9As and 2Bs respectively. What an accomplishment.
Brandon Joseph A/L John Peter scored straight A’s in SPM and passed additional German language in SPA (Sijil Pelajaran Antarabangsa). He’s got an additional language up his sleeve when Indians these days like to belittle fellow Indians with a good command of English. Brandon, spreche sie English?
Rajeevelosana A/P Seladorai who is from SMK Tunku Panglima Besar, Kulim churned up 10As in SPM, topping her school as the highest 2014 SPM scorer.
Kalleiselvan Murugiah, whose appearance is belying scored 9 As in SPM. Inthe chinna payyana ivlo periya veleye paathuchu? Kadugu siruthalum, kaaram koreiyathu. Kallei is the embodiment of the adage.
It is very easy to lose hope in this country because of it’s biased official policies that marginalise minorities, especially Indians and messed up priorities. But, amid making headlines for all the wrong reasons, Malaysian Indians are making headlines for all the right reasons, so it is only right for us at Retamil to congratulate and acknowledge such lotus flowers which bloom so splendidly on top of sludge while continue to scrutinize all the scrounge that bog down Malaysian Indians, particularly the youth.
We, the Retamil team would like to extend our heartfelt extol and best wishes to all top scoring STPM/SPM 2014 candidates. To those who scored less, know that your talent lies elsewhere and don’t feel slighted. You are just as talented and just as precious.
Education is the surefire ticket to escape all our dilemmas. Sacrifice anything, but never sacrifice education – make it your first priority.
Retamil team hopes this line up would spur next year’s STPM/SPM candidates towards academic excellence! Unggelal mudiyum thambi/thanggachi!
