Plot of Trisha Illana Nayanthara
It’s about Jeeva (GV Prakash) being a love torn fellow between two girls, Ramya (Anandi) and Aditi (Manisha Yadav). First he falls for Ramya in high school and makes out with her on her initiation (which constitutes that Indian girls these days ain’t prudish). Jeeva tells his friend about ‘matter’ (sex, but it’s not sex, just make out la) he did with Ramya and the friend ends up telling it to everyone in school. A shocked and mortified Ramya breaks up with Jeeva and leaves Chennai altogether. As Jeeva begs Ramya not to leave, he receives a phone call from Aditi (Manisha Yadav) who cries for no apparent reason and says that she loves Jeeva. In the jing chak tune of Trisha Illana Nayanthara, Jeeva accepts Aditi.
Aditi is jinak-jinak merpati type – she tempts Jeeva every time only to disappoint him. She shows a lot of flesh though and is well used to up the glamour in Trisha Illana Nayanthara In a sequence, Jeeva fights a group of karat machas who take pictures of Aditi in a compromising position. Later, Aditi invites Jeeva to her house for group study and for sex later. Jeeva drinks and readies himself, even rehearses with Aditi’s grandma’s doll. He tries to wake Aditi up but Aditi won’t stir. The whole night passes and nothing happens for Jeeva and he is disappointed. Aditi’s friend asks her why she didn’t stir and she talks like she’s experienced in having sex which suggest and implies that Aditi has had sex before.
Later, in a bar where Jeeva grieves about not having sex with Aditi, Jeeva bumps into the karat machas he thrashed earlier and they reveal to him that they photographed Aditi drinking. Jeeva gets shell shocked and confronts Aditi. He makes her promise not to drink and she pledges.
On Jeeva’s Sittapa’s (Vishu – VTV Ganesh) birthday, Jeeva, and his gang descend into a pub with the intention to get piss drunk. Jeeva sees Aditi drinking there and gets piss upset. He starts lecturing her that women shouldn’t drink and go to pubs. Aditi talks in a libertine tack – matter tha love, love tha matter. Jeeva gets ferocious and scolds Aditi. Aditi dumps him there and then and bouncers dump Jeeva outside the pub. Before that Jeeva laments that Ramya left him because matter happened and Aditi is leaving because matter didn’t happen. Jeeva issues a malediction that virgin boys’ curse won’t spare girls.
Jeeva travels to Kumbakonam to drink and languish in his sittapa’s bar in a train. There he sees Ramya again and starts to follow her. He tells Ramya that he still loves her but Ramya rejects him. So Jeeva uses Ramya’s aunt, Simran (Simran) to patch Ramya up with him. There’s a blitz of Simran’s movies attributes, particularly the movie Vaali which is in wavelength with Trisha Illena Nayanthara – core matter being sex.
Finally Jeeva manages to convince Ramya to accept him. He asks her 5 questions which he himself answers – Ramya doesn’t smoke, drink but had been in a relationship after Jeeva, with Harish (Arya) and has slept with him once. Jeeva becomes Nayagan Kamal momentarily and Harish appears and starts talking casually on his sexual adventure with Ramya. An incensed Jeeva leaves but not before saying, “Virgin pasanga saabam unggale summa vidathu di!!”
Jeeva prepares to leave Kumbakonam and throws a tantrum at his sittapa at the railway station, “Naa virgin paiyan, enukku virgin ponnu tha venum,” to which his sittapa says athellam dinosaur kalathuleye alinji pochi da.
Jeeva misses the train and a girl’s hand outstretches to help him up. The girl is Priya Anand and immediately, Jeeva brackets her to make her his gf. Trisha Illana Nayanthara, Nayanthara Illana Priya Anand and Trisha Illana Nayanthara ends.
Thuppu part for Trisha Illana Nayanthara
I totally lost respect for GV Prakash for essaying this role. And why in the world he maintains a yucky beard throughout the movie? I was like somebody give him a shaving kit for god’s sake especially every time his face is shown in close up. And, I think GV Prakash should just stick to music and singing like his uncle AR Rahman.
Jeeva can so easily fall in love the moment break up happens and the girls are the bitches. He is ready to jump at every opportunity to finish matter and he is the one cursing girls for not being virgins. It’s the SOP of soup machas who are on the scale of 10 – 1, a zero, jobless, aimless, drink like a fish, smoke like a chimney but want a pretty, teetotal, sexy girlfriend and if sex is offered will be the first to jump on it and when the latter doesn’t happen, he will put scene like uttama puttiran. Also these are the guys who think girls shouldn’t drink or smoke but they can indulge in both and girls are supposed to stop them from doing both. Jeeva says, “Purushan kudicha pondati, vena, kudikathingge, udambukku nallathu ille nu butthi mathi sollanum. Athe vittutu, purushanum kudicha, pondatiyum kudicha, veedu epdi di velenggum?” I was like, “Aren’t medically qualified doctors warnings and wanting to have a healthy body enough for anyone to stop drinking? Pondati sollanuma? Sonna mattum apdiye keaturuvingge.” Jeeva asks Aditi whether she doesn’t know that drinking is harmful to her health. Kononnya caring la. He gets piss drunk and his liver struggles to cope tak nampak.
Throughout the movie, I was reminded of this phrase, “Enthirichi nikkeve vakku ille, ivanukku 9 girlfriend kekutham.” Jeeva doesn’t seem to be in any job and all he does is pursuing girls. Like that’s what life is. But, I wonder how he can handle a wife because even to drink and eat, he’s dependent on his sittapa while Ramya actually has a job.
Jeeva tries hard to engender sympathy for boys and makes it look like girls are the bane of the lives of guys. And, Facebook is abuzz with machas glorifying this movie as the ultimate panacea for boys and supreme serupadi for girls. Memes and Facebook posts terikuthu by guys for Trisha Illana Nayanthara. Henceforth, I want to see no boy sending random friend requests to girls on Facebook. Berani sahut cabaran?
Trisha Illana Nayanthara deserves an Oscar as the crappiest movie of the century. GV Prakash was always like, “Virgin pasanga saabam unggale summa vidathu.” I was like “Inthe padathe pakre aalunga saabam unna summa vidathu.”
I rate this movie 1/5, worth watching in Thiruttu VCD. Soup boys will enjoy this trash immensely.
